Residents are being urged to stay alert after a Lifeline customer reported receiving a phone call from someone pretending to be from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.
The unknown caller attempted to take a payment over the phone. The customer remained vigilant and ended the call immediately.
The Council have urged residents that the Lifeline Service will NEVER ask for any financial information over the phone.
If you are ever unsure or feel uncomfortable:
• End the call immediately.
• Redial the Lifeline number, or press your alarm to be connected to the centre.
