A YELLOW Warning has been issued, affecting majority of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion & the North of Wales. This alert is in situ from 3am tomorrow morning until 12pm tomorrow afternoon.

 

Many roads are already frozen/icy. Please allow extra travel time due to disruptions to roads, or RTC’s that may occur. Allow sufficient space between you and the vehicle in front to ensure you have enough stopping time should a hazard present itself.

 

4 Flood Alerts & 1 Flood Warning is in Place for Wales.

 

121 properties are without power in Merthyr Dyfan, Barry. Estimated restore time is 2pm this afternoon.

 

Please ensure you’re using 999 appropriately. Emergency Service continue to be under pressure, especially the Welsh Ambulance Service. Always call 999 in an emergency, but remember to call 111 if your symptoms are not an emergency, or check online on 111 NHS Wales.

 

Pembrokeshire County Council & Carmarthenshire County Council have announced issues regarding Waste Collection & Management. Please ensure you follow guidance received by them on their official Facebook Page/Website. You can also find ALL local authority websites in Wales linked below.

Roads across Dyfed-Powys are beginning to ice over due to surface water from hail/rain & snow that fell during the night.

 

YELLOW Warning for ice in North Wales from 5pm tonight to 12pm tomorrow.

 

176 properties are without power along the National Grid Supply Network, most being in Carmarthenshire.

 

If a road is closed, do not ignore the signage. The road is closed to safeguard and prevent any accidents from happening, including having to put pressure on Emergency Services to deal with the call.

 

Ensure you allow extra time whilst travelling to and from your locations, leaving adequate space between you and the vehicle in front.

Met Office have just issued Wales a YELLOW Weather Warning for Snow & Ice from 5pm tonight until 10am tomorrow.

 

Multiple roads across the country are closed due to flooding.

 

DO NOT ignore road closure signs - they are there to safeguard you & those around you.

 

Please ensure you allow yourself enough distance between you and the vehicle in front & do not rush. Ensure you take extra time to travel.

 

Please remember that Emergency Services are already under pressure, and have limit resources. Delays are imminent - it is unfortunate, but they are trying their best to deal with inbound calls & prioritising emergencies. If you can, seek advice from your Pharmacy - or call 111 who will refer you accordingly. You can also check your symptoms online by clicking the link below.

Yellow warning of rain has been extended to 8am this morning. No warning of wind though, although the wind we put as a 'yellow warning'. Strong gusts in North Pembrokeshire.

 

30 Flood Alerts & 3 Flood Warnings are in place across Wales.

 

53 properties are without power currently on the National Grid Supply Network, with an estimated average restore time of 3am.

Multiple properties in Mid & North Wales are still without power. Unknown amount of numbers, unknown restore times.

Aerated Water reported in the Saundersfoot, Tenby & Kilgetty areas.

 

No Water/Low Pressure reported in Trefil, Tredegar area. Estimated completion is 4am.

 

Emergency works are still on-going in Taff Trail, Aberfan (Merthyr Tydfil) and at Stage 3 (repairs underway). Estimated completion is 06/01/2025.

 

Water Issue identified in Penbury Court Lane, Morganstown, Cardiff. No estimated completion date/time.

 

Currently, there are no warnings for the rest of the week. We are looking at some wintery showers on & off during the week, with light snow expected early morning on Wednesday. Temperatures are due to increase end of the week.

Snow is beginning to flurry across North Pembrokeshire. Given how icy it is, there is strong potential for it to settle.

Please ensure you take extra precautions travelling on the roads this weekend.

​

AMBER warning remains in place for most of the UK. Pembrokeshire is just outside of the boundary of the AMBER alert, but is subject to change due to the direction of the weather.

​

Conditions of roads are slippery due to black ice & frost. Please allow extra travelling time and extra space between you and the vehicle in front.

- Some flurries of snow and freezing rain is falling across high ground. Frost/Ice is thick, with people struggling to open car doors.

As you’re aware, the Welsh Ambulance Service had declared a Critical Incident regarding wait times and responding times to 999 calls and incidents. The service is still continued to be under pressure. Please only attend your local A&E if necessary & check your symptoms via 111 here: linktr.ee/sarscymru, or call 111 to speak to an Advisor/Nurse. They will refer you to the correct services and arrange emergency care should you require it.

Met Office have now issued an AMBER alert for most of Wales & England for Ice & Snow. This is in effect from 6pm on 04/01 to 12pm 05/01.

​

- Majority of the UK remains on alert for snow & ice (shocking as it’s winter, who’d have thought!?)

- Freezing temperatures were recorded last night with roads being very icy & slippery - this will be the same tonight and tomorrow.

- Be aware of Black Ice when travelling and standing water/road surface water due to freezing temperatures. Ensure you take extra care when travelling.

Met Office has explained that some rural communities are expected to be ‘cut off’, so please do ensure you have all the essentials - torch, batteries (and an additional torch), blankets & warm clothes to hand as a precautionary measure.

​

Power cuts may occur due to trees falling due to weight of snow/ice.

- ABERGAVENNY: 17 properties without power. National Grid are Currently working on this.

- ABERYSTWYTH: Now Restored.

- MALIDEN, PRESTATYN: Expected restore at 6pm. No number of properties affected.

Snow is beginning to fall across high areas across Wales, in particular North Pembrokeshire.

- ‘Mountain Road’, Crymych (Towards Mynachlog-Ddu) is slippery & icy. Please drive with extra caution.

- Pentre Galar to Garnwen Quarry - Road is beginning to ice up, please allow extra time. Gritters are currently out.

- Roads are also becoming icy and slippery, so please allow extra travel time between you and the vehicle in front.

- Multi-storey Car Park in Tenby is currently closed due to an on-going incident. People are asked to avoid the area if possible.
